Today

Today was once again a normal day we didn’t do anything special. In the first block, we went for a workout and did some suicides then we went for a swim and then the electricity was still fixing our lights so we played red light and green light outside and played a bit of infinity tag. After a whole block of playing games, we went and had our school assembly. After morning tea we did our writing and some math then it was lunch time so we had lunch and then played some dodgeball for years 5, 6, 7, and 8. After lunch it was time for our 21-day rubbish challenge this time we didn’t get as much rubbish as we usually do this time we got 220 pieces but it still kept our school in the lead with 4000 and something. After that, it was refuel time and we just played handball. In the last block, we just did our blogs and blog comments and then it was the end of the day and it was time to go home after a relatively good day.

The best part of today was playing dodgeball.

The worst part about today was picking up everyone’s rubbish around the school.

Anyway, that’s all for today see you tomorrow.

21 day challange

Today on our 21-day challenge we went under rooms 8, 7, and 6 and picked up just a tiny bit of the rubbish. For our 21 day challenge we have to pick up as much rubbish as we can and then the school in the new zealand that got the most rubbish in 21 days get’s a prize. Today 3763 pieces of rubbish which filled up 3 big bags of rubbish so that will keep us in first for a bit hopefully.

The best part about this was that were cleaning up the enviorment.

The worst part is that it’s not our rubbish and we have to clean it up.

Anyway other then that it was actual kinda fun so that’s all for today.

Swimming

Today for swimming we had Nancy and did some swimming safety. First, we did about 4 strokes just to get warmed up and then we had to float on our back with one hand in the air for 5 minutes but everyone kept kicking me so I kept going under the water and getting water up my nose. After getting a whole bunch of water up my nose we swam to the other side of the pool, then we swam 4 laps of any stroke,  then we had to lie on our back for 5 minutes and then we got 5 minutes free time. After that, we had to hop out and get dressed.

The best part was having free time in the pool because we were diving for rings and had a competition

The worst part was just floating on our back because it was so boring and it felt like it went on forever.

Anyway, that’s all for today see you tomorrow.

Infant Swimming: What Are the Benefits?

Ocean explorer

Today after lunch we had a bit of a dirty activity. We watched a video about plastic pollution and how it ends up in the ocean every day. We learned that every minute a truckload of waste goes into the ocean, over 90% of sea birds have plastic stuck in their stomachs, and 1 in 3 species of marine mammals have been found entangled in marine litter.

After we had done all that research we went outside and picked up rubbish around our school for 10 minutes.  Our spot was across the road by North Drift. We got a pretty decent amount but not enough to win the challenge.

My favorite part was doing the reaserch and writing everything in our books.

My least favorite part was picking up the rubbish because it was descuting picking up other peoples rubbish. This was how much rubbish we got all togeather.

kapa haka

Today we had kapa haka so we started getting a bit more prepared for our big performance, not tomorrow but next Saturday. First, we practiced a full rundown of our bracket, and then we did it again but the kids who were not going to be performing on the day stood out for this one then we went over it again and practiced the entire thing.

The hardest part was playing my guitar for the Roop because I can’t play bar cords so I had to keep changing the capo to different areas.

The best part was doing all the solos even though I wouldn’t be there which was sad.

Anyway other than that, that’s all for today see you tomorrow.

Swimming sports

Today we had our school swimming sports. It started at 9:00 in the morning starting with the 8-year-olds and then 9, 10, 11, and 12 and we did freestyle first starting with the 8-year-olds then going up to the 12 and then we did the same thing for the rest of the strokes. I did freestyle and back stroke then I got out and got dressed.

My favorite part was doing my backstroke because it is my easiest stroke.

My least favortie part was doing work when the compation finished.

Other then that it was a pretty good race going against my freinds and having everyone support me was pretty nice. Anyway thats all for today see tomorrow with the result’s.

Swimming

Today we went swimming with Nancy in the morning like every Tuesday. First, we practiced all 4 of our strokes 2 laps for each stroke for tomorrow because we have swim sports. All we do is race against each other in our age group in the whole school. After doing that we did im’s. Ims basically You do butterfly, backstroke, breath stroke, and freestyle all in that order, and one lap for each of them.

My favorite part was practicing our strokes because they were easy.

My least favorite part was doing the im’s because they were so hard and our pool is really big.

Anyway, that’s all for today see you tomorrow.

Weekends

On the weekend my cousins came and stayed with us for the night before they move to Boston New York. They drove up on Saturday, stayed for the night, and stayed with some more friends the other night.

On Saturday night we stayed up till 2 in the morning talking doing skincare stuff and funny tiktoks. The next day we went to our family bay and swam for the whole day. For dinner, we went to Mangonui and got some fish and chips then talked and talked and talked for the rest of the evening before we said our final goodbye.

My favorite part was swimming with them and telling funny jokes to each other.

The worst part was saying goodbye to them I didn’t want them to leave and I still don’t but I can’t wait to go see them in America later this year.

Anyway that’s for today see you tomorrow.

First day at tech

Yesterday we had our first day at tech for the year. My first class at tech for the year was cooking again. We cooked corn fritters. All you do is cook some corn in a pot, cut up some veggies and meat, and add it to a bowl with your corn. Next, add one egg and two teaspoons of flour and add it to your batter. Once you get all your ingredients in the bowl, mix it all together. Now you have your batter made so it’s time to pour the batter in the pan. You can make them as big or as little as you want. Cook your corn fritters for a few minutes when the bottom goes hard it’s time to flip them if you want them a little bit browner just cook them for about another minute or 2 and they should be done.

My favorite part was eating them at the end.

My least favorite part was cooking them because cooking isn’t really my thing.

Other than that our class was pretty good so that’s for today see you later.

Uncle’s wedding

On 10 February 2024, my Uncle Murray got married. At about 5:00 we had dinner and then everyone shared their speech. For dinner, I had tofu with fried potatoes. After my poppa’s speech, my cousin and I did a Haka for my Uncle and Katherine which made him cry a little and the next day I lost my voice and had a sore throat. for about three days.

My favorite part was doing the Haka for my Uncle and Katherine.

My least favorite part was waiting for them to return from taking pictures so I could eat my dinner.

Now that my uncle is a married man it’s time to say goodbye for now.
