Today a man from a company called Ocean Explorers. He dives all around the world and records all kinds of sea animals but he mainly records orcas. He showed us a whole bunch of videos that he recorded underwater. He showed us a video of when he and his safety swimmer filmed an orca floating on the surface, which was unusual because orcas can’t float on the surface for a long time. As he turned the camera around he realized the whale had been caught in the ropes so they freed the whale because orcas are like humans they have to come up to the surface for air.

My favorite part was the ad he played at the end. It was about how we don’t pick up the rubbish on the beach but not in the gutter.

My least favorite part was hearing the stories of the whale that got caught in the ropes.

Today in the first block we went swimming for half an hour at 9:00 in the morning. Today Whaea Emma let us have free time most of the time. when we jumped in we had to hop into groups of 7 because there were 14 kids swimming. The first people on each team hop out and dive into the pool, and race to the other end doing a stroke of their choice. once you were done we waited till everyone had a turn going against someone then we got free time for the rest of the time. After that, we went back to class and did one page of math and then it was break time.

Today we had Paulo. Paulo is a police officer who tries to attend school every week and do sports with us. Sometimes he does laps around the field for cross country, he does games and makes games up for us to play. Today we just played tic-tac-toe, and another game but I forgot the name. To play the second game you need a ball, something to tell the 2 teams apart, and 10 hula hoops. You have to put 5 hula hoops at one end and the other 5 at the other end. when the game starts someone throws the ball up and has to throw the ball to the person in their team and if they drop the ball it’s handed over to the other team. When the ball is down your end 5 players hope in one hoop each and you have to have one foot at least in the hoop to be able to win. To win you have someone who has to catch the ball in the hoop to be able to win. The first team to get all there hoops out wins.

Today was the second-to-last tech class for the year. I’m in sewing with Miss Manga. Today I finished making my cushion for my room and then I started a bean bag thing. You can put it in the microwave and then it will go hot then you can use it for neck pain, back pain, and for the winter.

My favorite part was doing all the stitching

My least favorite part was the pining because we had to pin the velcro to the fabric.

Today was just an ordinary day and Whaea Emma is back. Like any other day, we did our writing today we had a persuasive writing test which was so boring. After morning tea like every day we did our reading for my group we just had to do epic. After reading we did our maths slides until lunchtime. After lunch, we did Te Reo Maori and played Capture the Flag for the rest of the block, and then we had to refuel. After refuel we did our blog 2 comments and then played Minecraft for the rest of the day.

Today we had Whaea Te Rina because Whaea Emma is still sick.

First, we did writing we did quick writing I wrote about my weekends, and then we went for our morning swim at 9:15 to about 9:45, and then it was interval. After the interval we did reading, and then we did maths for reading if you weren’t doing reciprocal reading in your group you had to read  2 books and then do a recap on your story. For maths, we did protect but we had to get over 80 percent on stages 6 and 7 or we had to restart. in the last 2 blocks we had nothing to do so we had free time and that was the end of our day.

Today Whaea Emma was away again so we had to get split up because we had no teacher to reserve. I was in room 11 with Manaia. First, we did writing like always so I wrote about when the last time my family got together with the whole family at one place. Next on the timetable was maths all we did for maths was our maths slide so I did 2 of those which took forever then I did Prototec and I ran out of time for reading but after that, it was lunchtime. After lunch, we played Minecraft for the block because that was on the timetable. I tried to build a theme park that was going out of control because it was so big. After refuel I did my blog and my 2 comments and then we had free time and then home time.

Today our teacher Whaea Emma went with 22 kids to Rowandale School for the weekend where Whaea used to teach so the rest of the class got split up I was in room 4. In the first block, I wrote 2 stories on about the best trip I ever went on, and something embarrassing happened to me. In the second block, I did 2 math slides and read a book. In the 3 blocks, we got to play Minecraft so I am trying to build a theme park. and in the last block, we just did our blogs and played more Minecraft, and then it was home time and that was my day at school.

My favorite part was playing Minecraft.

My least favorite part was doing reading and writing.

Today was my first day back to tech. Today was week 2 of our last class for the year. I’m in sewing now. For year sevens on the first day, you would just learn the basics about the sewing machine. When you finish that you start your project. All the year sevens are making a pillowcase to take home. My favorite part was starting my pillowcase. My least favorite part was how much the string in my machine came out of the hole in the needle. It was pretty good but the teacher kept calling me special student because my grandfather worked with her which was a bit annoying.

Kia ora today was my first day back at school after traveling Europe for 2 months.

For 2 months I went to 15 countries Singapore, England, Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland, Amsterdam, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Rome, Vatican City, Spain, France, Dubai, and then home. Most people think that Rome and Vatican City are in Italy but they are actually 2 different countries that speak Italian. Vatican City is only a few hundred meters big and is also surrounded by Rome and that’s Vatican City.

My favorite place on the whole trip was Dubai. Dubai in the summer can get up to 50 degrees Celsius. When we went it was 30 degrees Celsius and they were calling it cold for us that is boiling because it’s not the sun that burns it is the humidity. When I went for a swim it was 18 degrees in the pool but it felt nice because it wasn’t cold and it wasn’t too warm.

Overall I’m glad to be back home and with my friends and family and back to normal everyday life.
